All that is
James Salter´s last book is an excellent work. A walk through emotional landscapes led by the hand of fifty years ago american characters. A narrative of events, encounters, passions and betrayals ... Life itself.
Good literature is always evocative, can make us poke realities and universes, without becoming ours allows us to dress for a few hours situations that make us other. This detachment of the ego is always liberating, since he weighs sometimes too.
Salter is a terrific writer, he knows the art of writting. Something different to the usual bookstores hits. It isn´t just a matter of having a good story to tell, the art of writting is based in removing oneself off the way, leaving the reader dancing with the characters at their own pleasure.
The liquid relationships the author write down may be different to ours but show that the relational landscape is changing fast and there are many worlds and lives ahead of us.
Reading in summer it´s worthy, it helps us to travel through life in an other elegant way.
